PartMaker CAD/CAM
frontline support

August 10, 2014

In the summer of 2014 I worked for PartMaker, a leading CAD/CAM design company. I worked in their Frontline Support division as an Applications Engineer and on various side projects that involved developing the necessary CAM for a company's job. This paragon bone broach took roughly 20 hours to CAM from start to finish. This piece helped solidify my understanding of CAM software and realize the capabilities and extents to which certain geometries can be achieved on swiss-mill and turn-mill machines.

This particular bone broach is used for patients undergoing hip replacement surgery.
